Fever bring the heat and defeat the Dream, 92-84

The Fever came out expecting the win and that’s exactly what they did. The Fever were up by 15 at the half and they went on to win the game. The Fever played an excellent game and they deserved this win. Atlanta tried to fight back outscoring the Fever in the 3rd quarter but there efforts were failing.

Katie Douglas was a main part of this Fever win. She scored 21 points and 3 assists. It seemed like every time the ball left her hand she scored. Douglas’ first shot was a 3 with in the first few minutes of the game and she never cooled down. Douglas made  a lot of her shots in transition which kept the Fever a head of the game. She had a great game and Tamika Catchings was right there scoring with her.

Tamika Catchings was the other part of the big win. She added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Catchings was a force on each side of the court. 5 of her rebounds were on the defensive end. Catchigns went through the game racking up 4 personal fouls but she didn’t let that stop her. She fought to the end. Briann January was great coming off the bench adding 11 points and helping lift her team to the win.

Angel McCoughtry scored 26 points leading both teams. She grabbed 7 rebounds and 4 steals in thsi game. Although put in an extreme effort, the Dream couldn’t seal away the win. Sancho Lytle started her season with a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Lindsey Harding tried her hardest to grab a season opening victory but her attempts failed as well. She scored 16 points and dished 6 assists.

This was a great game for the Fever. They showed the Dream that it’s not gonna be a cake walk this year. The Fever need to play this same way in for the rest of the season. The Dream need to watch some more film before the next Fever matchup.
