6/1 Game Day Preview

Minnesota Lynx vs. Connecticut Sun

Who Wins? The Lynx. The Sun have a lot of threats but not enough to beat the Lynx. The Lynx are using their championship to power their minds, their skill, and the abilities. The Lynx are too thirsty to be defeated and the Sun don’t have the same thirst. Tina Charles is doing good this year but she isn’t doing great but part of that is because her team is stepping up. Kara Lawson is hitting key shots, Allison Hightower and Danielle McCray have been stepping up. The Lynx have an overwhelming game for most team. Anyone on the team is a score threat. you can’t shut down one person and win. The Sun doesn’t have the strength or ability to guard the stars on this team.

Phoenix Mercury vs. San Antonio Silver Stars

Who Wins? The Stars. This game isn’t about skill because they are evenly matched. This game isn’t about a mental state because the mental state is the same. This game is about matchups and the bench. The starting lineups for these teams are pretty even. Sammy Prahalis is a good player but Becky Hammon is better. She’s not going to run all over her, but she’s going to control the matchup. Diana Taurasi is out so her position will probably be given to Danielle Robinson on the defensive end. Robinson will fare well with the Taurasi replacement. Bonner should be defensively matchuped with Perkins and Dupree should move to pick up Young. The matchups may change throughout the game in order to compensate for the Stars offense. As far as the bench is concerned, the Stars definitely have a better one. Jayne Appel, Shenise Johnson, and Shameka Christon have been factors in the past games and they will definitely bring the heat this game.

Washington Mystics vs. Chicago Sky?

Who Wins? The Mystics. If Matee Ajavon continues to play like she has been, she will definitely capitlize on this Sky team. The Sky have some key players but they are the same Sky. The Sky only use Sylvia Fowles and Epiphany Prince while the Mystics use their Big 3 and some of their bench players. The Sky could win this game if Swin Cash and Courtney Vanderloot step up and score some points. It takes a team to win games.

Tulsa Shock vs. Seattle Storm

Who Wins? The Shock. The Shock played great against the Sparks. They were extremely close to winning. The Sparks beat Seattle both times they played them. If the Shock play the Storm how they played the Sparks, they will have no problem winning the game. Riquna Williams will have to put up another great game as well as Temeka Johnson and Ivory Latta. Not only will these three have to be good, but other starts like Kayla Pedersen and Chante Black will have to step up and show their scoring ability as well. Making baskets isn’t everything though, the entire team is going to have to be involved in this game in order for the Shock to win. Seattle doesn’t have the power to win like they used to. Without Lauren Jackson, they are missing a huge factor!
