The Lynx not only won and improved to 8-0 but they played good. Instead of having a close game with an unworthy opponent, they blew the Storm out! The Lynx were down Seimone Augustus, but they still pulled off the win thanks to Taj McWilliams-Franklin and a couple bench members. TMF shocked every one in this game! Before this game, she was averaging 6.6 points a game and only scored in double digits in one of the past games. She came out in this game leading both teams scoring 17 points. I don’t know weather it was the absence of Augustus or whether she was just hot this game but she got it done!
5 players for the Lynx scored double digits and almost everyone on the team scored. Rookie Devereaux Peters came off the bench scoring 14 points and dishing 4 assists. She was 1 assists behind Lindsey Whalen who didn’t contribute much but assists. Peters was 5-7 on the floor. Maya Moore and Candice Wiggins both had 12 points in this game and together they grabbed 11 rebounds. Everyone on the Lynx team contributed something to this win. It was a good game for them.
Seattle…Seattle..Seattle Sue Bird is falling apart right now. She only scored 14 points and no one else on the team was even close to that. She has been so inconsitent this season. She’s went from scoring 5 points in one game, then 7, then 27, now she’s only at 14 points. She needs to catch her flow because her team is going down quick. Katie Smith, who had 19 in the last game, did not score and fouled out. Instead of taking steps forward, she went backward. Ann Wauters and Victoria Dunlap combined to score 13 points and grab 10 rebounds but that definitely isn’t enough. Seattle played terribly.
