The Dream once again piles behind Angel McCoughtry and I guess it seems to work. McCoughtry scored 23 points in this game and also had 8 rebounds and 1 assist. She did all the scoring so there’s no reason for her to pass it. She ended the game with 4 PF. Sancho Lyttle and Ketia Swanier led the Dream in other ways. Sancho Lyttle, other than McCoughtry, did the most rebounding. In this game she had 6 but she led her team in steals. She had 5 of them. Swanier had 9 assists this game, many of those being to McCoughtry.
Kia Vaughn, Kara Braxton, and Leilani Mitchell had huge games but they just couldn’t get the win. Kia Vaughn grabbed almost every offensive rebound for the Liberty. She scored only 2 points but she grabbed 9 offensive rebounds and 3 defensive rebounds to total12. She may not have scored that much but her rebounds helped her team for second chance shots. Braxton was the only player to have a double-double. She scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. She only played 17 minutes but she did a lot for her team in that time. Mitchell was 5 of 6 from the arc in this game! Every time she let go of the ball, it was automatic. On the one 3 she missed, Vaughn cleaned it up and Pondexter made the shot. These 3 had huge games but the Liberty couldn’t pull it over Atlanta.
