Mystics took advantage of the Mercury’s injuries although the Mercury fought hard. The Mystics leading scorer, like in most games, was Crystal Langhorne. She is a huge factor for their team. In almost every game, she scores double digits and also grabs many rebounds for her team. Last night, she scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Noelle Quinn came of the bench early scoring. She scored a total of 18 points for her team and grabbed 4 rebounds. She didn’t shoot great but she had key plays for her team to secure the win. Natalie Novosel also did a good job scoring 12 points for her team. She also had 6 rebounds, several of them being on the defensive end.
The way DeWanna Bonner, Charde Houston, and Sammy Prahalis played, the Mercury shouldn’t have lost! They all scored 20+ points. Prahalis scored 20 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished 5 assists. Bonner also scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. She led her team with 3 blocks. Houston lead both teams with 26 points. She also had 3 rebounds and 2 assists. The biggest problem for the Mercury is that they only had these 3 players that contributed. The only other person that actually scored worth anything was Alexis Hornbuckle who only had 5 points. The Mercury are missing a lot of their scorers and these 3 can’t do it all. Dupree and Taurasi are extremely missed.
